Ford Endeavour Sport Spied, Should Launch Before Refreshed Toyota Fortuner

Ford Endeavour has always been one of the most popular premium SUVs in India. The SUV has captured a great number of followers thanks to its outstanding reliability and off-road capabilities. To refresh the India-spec line-up a bit, the American car brand has prepared something special for our market. Called the Endeavour Sport, the new variant has been spotted doing testing on public roads in India. Before entering the Indiab market, the new variant has been launched in Australia in late 2019. However, on battleground India, the special version of the Ford's upmarket SUV will likely launch before the advent of the refreshed Toyota Fortuner. 

In the latest spy image, Ford Endeavour was spotted with Sport badge on the tailgate. Unfortunately, the spy image only captured the rear design of the new variant. It is believed that there will be more new exiting elements happening on the front. As far as we could tell, Ford might apply blacked-out accents across the exterior of the new Endeavour Sport, for example, on the front grille, front bumper, and the outside rearview mirror as well as the alloy wheels. With these new additions, we can expect to see a stronger sporty appeal on the Ford Endeavour.

As for the interior, the Ford Endeavour Sport is expected to come with some new cosmetic updates. It is likely that Ford will add some blacked-out elements to the cabin to make it distinguished from the regular model. In terms of features, the Ford Endeavour Sport is likely to offer all the bells and whistles offered on the top-trim variant. It means that the Ford Endeavour Sport will get features like a panoramic sunroof, 8-inch touchscreen SYNC 3 infotainment system, active noise cancellation, seven airbags, terrain management system, and more.

Under the hood, the new Ford Endeavour Sport is likely to carry the similar 2.0-litre EcoBlue turbo-diesel engine as in the standard model. This engine is capable of belting out a top power of 170 Nm and a maximum torque of 420 Nm. It is mated to a 10-speed automatic gearbox. However, some enthusiast would love to see the Endeavour Sport be more performance-focused with a new 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine. This oil-burner is good for 213 PS and 500 Nm. When launched, the Ford Endeavour Sport will lock horns against the Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo.  Apart from the new Endeavour Sport variant, Ford recently launched top-of-the-line Ford Freestyle Flair variant.
