The official images reveal most of the cosmetic changes of the India-spec Ford Figo facelift and the Figo Blu. The restyled hatchbacks will go on sale on 15 March 2019.

Shortly after the updated Ford Endeavour marked its release in the market, the 2019 Ford Figo (facelift) is also in the pipeline to hit the country, scheduled to come on March 15, 2019. While a number of exclusive spy shots of the vehicle were surfaced online some days ago, Ford has finally released the official pictures of the Figo facelift to alleviate customers’ interest.

The updated Figo is physically and figuratively an aspirational Ford's model

The India-spec Figo facelift appears largely identical to the refreshed Ford Ka+ which debuted in the European market last year. In an effort to provide a heavily revised look, Ford has redesigned the highly acclaimed ten-year-old Figo with new front and rear bumper, a chrome-garnished honeycomb grille, refreshed sharper headlights and newly-built 15-inch alloy wheels. The upcoming Ford hatchback will be available in three grades, namely Ambiente, Titanium and new top-spec Titanium Blu which is said to give out a sportier facade. The range-topping Figo Blu, that said will get a contrast roof, new distinctive alloy wheels along with a black front grille.

The interior of the 2019 Figo facelift, as has been reported earlier, will receive a massive makeover and share many things in common with the new iterations of Aspire and Freestyle. It sports a refreshed centre console and dashboard with the inclusion of hassle-free features including keyless entry, engine start push-button, rain sensing wipers, automatic headlamps and a touchscreen infotainment system. However, it seems like a pity that the advanced Ford’s SYNC3 infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple Carplay connectivity is missed out on the inside this time.

On gearing up for the new mandatory safety and crash test norms, the 2019 Ford Figo is reinforced with dual front airbags, brake assist, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, speed alert and seatbelt reminder as standard. Besides, the top-end Figo Blu trim will feature best-in-segment six airbags.

The powertrain system of the Ford Figo facelift will undergo the biggest changes with three engine options to be equipped. The engine lineup includes a 96 bhp 1.2-litre Dragon petrol unit paired with a 5-speed manual transmission, a 123 bhp 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine mated to a 6-speed torque converter AT option and a 99 bhp 1.5-litre diesel burner available with a 5-speed manual transmission.

Pre-bookings for the 2019 Ford Figo has been inaugurated already. As the latest attempt to outnumber the dominant Maruti Swift and Hyundai Grand i10, Ford will more likely to price the Figo facelift quite competitively in India.
