Ford will deliver some revision to the Ford EcoSport line-up, for instance, replacing the Titanium Signature with the Titanium and updating the Titanium.

Ford is going to update their hot-selling sub-four-compact SUV Ford EcoSport’s range. Also, it is also expected that the car manufacturer will announce the price revision for Ford EcoSport in June 2019. The latest upgrade for the Ford EcoSport was given last year, in which the 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine was reintroduced and the EcoSport Signature Edition was launched.

This time around, in place of the Titanium Signature, Ford will introduce the new variant which is named Ford EcoSport Thunder. The vehicle is currently seen parking on dealership’s yard, all set to be launched. The new variant will be introduced with extensive cosmetic updates. Moreover, the interior of the EcoSport Thunder will also be given some new features, for example, FlyAudio 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, dual-tone leather seat cover, sunroof, alloy wheels and dual-tone exterior colour scheme. Some features like leather seats and sunroof are currently not available on the Titanium Signature variant which will be replaced by the Thunder soon. Under the hood, the EcoSPort Thunder retains the powertrain options of the 1.5-litre petrol (MT/AT) and a 1.5-litre diesel engine (MT).

Along with the introduction of the new EcoSPort Thunder, the currently-available Ford EcoSport Titanium will also be refreshed. Instead of the all-black interior of the ongoing version, it is going to receive a new beige interior. However, it won’t feature a sunglass holder and centre armrest for the rear row. The powertrain includes both 1.5-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine, all are paired with a manual gearbox.

It is still unclear if the EcoSport S will remain to be the top-spec. Reportedly, Ford might come up with a new and appealing top-of-the-line variant which will be reasonably priced.

Besides the addition of the Thunder variant, the Titanium grade also receives minor updates too

Ford EcoSport was among the very first vehicle to venture the compact SUV space in India market. But the more recent models are gradually nudging the EcoSport away from the top spots in the compact segment. Especially with the new launch of the Mahindra XVU300 and Hyundai Venue, Ford EcoSport’s position is increasingly threatened. It is expected that with some equipment enhancements, Ford EcoSport could hold its ground.
