In 2020, Ford will launch a compact SUV named Puma in the global market and in India, tool. Here a rendering that shows what the Hyundai Creta rival could look like

After establishing the partnership with the Mahindra, Ford will cooperate with the Indian carmaker to develop products. The first vehicle to be produced under this cooperation is the EV version of the Ford Aspire. Besides the collaboration works, Ford will also venture on their own with two new SUVs. The first one is expected to be the replacement of the Ford Ecosport in India. The second SUV will enter the compact SUV segment and be sold globally

Codenamed as Ford BX745, the new Ford SUV will pit against the Hyundai Creta. Internationally, the Ford BX745 is known as Ford Puma. After launched, the Ford Puma will sit between the Ecosport and Kuga. Last month, the Ford Puma was displayed, under the dimmed light, in Amsterdam for the first time alongside the Explorer plug-in hybrid. From all the cues that revealed in this event, Motor1 has drafted a rendering of the Ford Puma.

Ford promised that the Puma 2020 would be a looker with eye-pleasing design. From the rendering, it is easy to notice that, unlike other models in its class, the curvy design is more dominant, which reminds us of a crossover than a mid-sized SUV. Also, the rendering model shares a lot in common with the Fiesta which is Puma’s older sibling. On the fascia, we could see the Ford gets swept-back headlamps and integrated Daytime Running Lights and the signature hexagonal mesh grille. Everything looks smart and put together.

Ford Puma is speculated to inherit some design traits with the Fiesta

To the side, the design develops in line with the nice-looking front. The roofline is sloping toward the rear end. Nothing stands out or bold about the side profile. This style is likely to catch on well as an urban-driving vehicle. Even though, the Ford Puma sports an adequate ground clearance for driving on India roads with ease.

Interiorly, the Puma is speculated to reflect the design seen on the Fiesta too. It is easy to understand as reserving the design could be one way to keep the price in check.

If the first product, or the Ecosport replacement, is designed for the India market only, this compact SUV is meant to go on sale globally. Moreover, besides, this model might get the plug-in hybrid version in the future.
