Fourth-gen Toyota Harrier to Launch in June

Toyota will soon launch the new-gen Toyota Harrier. The new SUV is based on the much publicised TNGA platform

Toyota is planning to introduce the new Harrier SUV in June this year. The automaker has officially revealed the Harrier SUV in Japan ahead of its global launch later this year. The upcoming 2020 Harrier will be the fourth-gen version of the SUV. Speaking on the new model, the carmaker has said, "the Harrier brings together simplicity, elegance, and robustness in a fluent coupe form. Its high-quality interior space provides a sense of security from the first moment inside the cabin."

The new-gen SUV looks more aggresive and sharper comapred to the previsous-gen model

Toyota Harrier was first launched in Japan back in the 1990s, and formed the base for the Lexus RX. The new-gen Harrier will be based on the company’s TNGA platform. The all-new model will look sportier and aggressive compared to the ongoing version of the SUV. Upfront, it gets LED projector headlamps with LED DRLs and fog lamp along with a sleeker blacked-out grille. The side profile of the car features chrome door handles, body-coloured side mirrors with integrated side blinkers and multi-spoke alloy wheels.

The SUV also gets coupe-like roof-line which enhances the sporty quotient of the SUV. Completing the overall picture with a smart looking rear, which gets connected LED taillights, spoiler with integrated stop light and shark-fin antenna. Inside, the SUV gets an all-new dashboard, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, engine start/stop button, touch-sensitive controls for air-con system and touchscreen.

The SUV also features JBL audio system, company’s Safety Sense Collision mitigation system and an electronic sunroof. The all-new model will be offered with two different powertrain options namely- petrol and hybrid. Both the models will be offered with four-wheel-drive option. For now, Toyota has no plans to introduce the new-gen Harrier in Indian anytime soon, but right now the carmaker is planning to launch the special edition of Fortuner.
