After the MG Motor, Haima Automobile will be the next Chinese carmaker to embark on the Indian shore. The car manufacturer will make an appearance at the Auto Expo 2020.

In 2019, the Indian carmaker has welcomed two rookies, the MG Motor and Kia Motors. Both of the car manufacturers have garnered certain success despite the current slowdown in the market. The extensive scale of the Indian car market and its potential are irresistible for foreign carmakers. In the following year, we will see more car brands to embark our shore. One among them is reportedly Haima Automobile, a Chinese car manufacturer.

The spokesperson of the Haima has affirmed the Indian entrance plan, saying, “It is certain that Haima Automobile Group, a three-decade-old pioneer passenger car manufacturer from China, is all set to make its foray into the Indian automotive sector.”

In the latest development, the Chinese carmaker is processing its establishment in India with the government authorities as well as working with OEM suppliers. Haima automobile is mapping out a business strategy for the Indian market basing on the in-depth market surveys.

Originally, Haima was established as a joint venture between the Japanese carmaker Mazda and Hainan province. The company was later acquired by FAW. Sharing the connection with Mazda, some products of the Haima’s range are somewhat based on Mazda’s technology.

In the Indian market, Haima has quickly established a partnership with the Bird Electric, a subsidiary company of Bird Group. The collaboration between these two automobile entities makes an absolute sense considering that the Haima is planning to bring its fleet of EVs to the upcoming Auto Expo 2020 show.

Haima’s product portfolio in its mother country encompassing a wide range of EVs in various segments, from the hatchback, sedans, SUV and MPV. The current electric line-up includes Aishang 360, E3, E5 and E7 in the respective segment. Some of these names will make it to the Auto Expo happening next year. Along with the electric vehicles, the Chinese car manufacturer also remains a number of internal combustion engine models, like the Formica F7 7-seat, Formica F5, S7 and more.

It remains unclear which models will be brought to India market. But considering the growing popularity of the sub-four-meter SUVs and mid-sized SUV segment, it is likely that Haima will break into these segments first, just like MG and Kia with the Hector and Seltos.
