Cooperating with Bird Electric Group, Haima aims to bring the E1 EV as the most affordable long-range electric vehicle in the Indian market. The hatchback is slated to enter India via the CKD route by 2022. Bookings for the Haima E1 has already commenced.
The Haima E1 EV measures at only 3.66 metres in terms of length and has a wheelbase 2.33 metres long, making it shorter than many other hatchbacks in India. As for the design, the Haima E1 is a bit simplistic. However, Bird Electric has confirmed that the India-spec car will look different.
The Haima E1 EV gets a tall boy silhouette generating an adequate interior space within a limited footprint. The LED headlights, dual-tone body paint scheme along with alloy wheels are some highlights on the exterior of the model. On the inside, the E1 EV sports an all-black cabin with features like a touchscreen infotainment system, climate control, and a digital instrument cluster.
The Haima E1 EV is equipped with a 34 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that powers an electric motor. The latter is good for 55 PS and 140 Nm of peak power and torque respectively. The driving range of the E1 EV is claimed at 302 km on a full charge, which is quite practical for a city commuter. If driven sedately, the range can increase even further! Haima claims up to 352 km when driven consistently at 60 kmph.
Haima will start its Indian innings upon the launch of the E1 EV which is expected in early 2022. If Haima E1 EV is priced under the Rs. 10 Lakh mark, the Chinese car maker might have a potential winner at their hands. For more updates on car news, keep following IndianAuto.
