It’s been a couple of years since the last time Maruti Suzuki introduced a mid-life update to the Celerio in 2017. After being on sale for almost six years now, the first-gen avatar of the Maruti Celerio has started showing its ages against the younger and more modern rivals. Therefore, it’s high time for the Indo-Japanese company to give the Celerio a thorough makeover to make big numbers with the Celerio, and the brand is already on its toes as the new-gen model is under development. The test mules of the new-gen Maruti Celerio have been spied on test on multiple occasions and the latest set of spy shots have revealed how the new Celerio would look like.

While Maruti Suzuki remains silent on the new 2021 Celerio's details, we know that the upcoming car is internally codenamed as “YNC” and will be based on the company’s lightweight Heartect platform that also underpins other Maruti vehicles. The recent spy images of the new Celerio give a clear hint of its size. The all-new Celerio will likely be larger than the previous-gen model. It will boast of a longer wheelbase and a higher ground clearance than the current-gen model.

Despite the camouflage, we can clearly see the front face of the new Celerio. It features a sleeker radiator grille flanked by a set of halogen headlamps. Unlike other cars, the centre air dam of the Celerio is placed below the number plate while the turn indicators have been mounted to the fenders. The test mule sports a set of steel wheels with no wheel caps that suggests that it is the entry-level model.
