The all-new Suzuki Jimny is so popular in the foreign markets that it has been sold out for 2020.

Suzuki Jimny is one of the best-selling three-door SUVs in the foreign markets. The car has a huge fan following and is popular among people who are looking out for pocket-friendly off-roaders. The SUV was launched globally last year, and since then the demand has been higher than supply. While talking to a media publication, one of Suzuki’s spokesperson said that delivery time of the three-door SUV is still anywhere from 6 months to 12 months. He also said that “the orders are still coming in strong.” If a new buyer is looking out to get behind the wheels of Suzuki Jimny, he has to wait until next year.

In India, the 2020 Suzuki Jimny was showcased by the carmaker at the 2020 Auto Expo and the off-roader was able to capture a lot of attention. Reports suggest that the automaker has plans to introduce the 5-door model of the car exclusively for the Indian market. Suzuki has plans to launch the new MK4 Jimny in the Indian market by the end of this year, but the launch date is likely to get extended due to the ongoing situation.

The off-roader will be retailed via the company’s premium Nexa outlets. In terms of looks, the India-spec model will look almost same as the Global SUV as it will employ the same body design, LED projector headlamps, blacked-out grille along with blacked-out bumper at the front and rear. However, the side profile will look different due to the addition of the rear doors.

Moreover, the cabin of the car will also be more or less the same. Mechanically, the all-new Suzuki Jimny will be powered by K15B 1.5-litre, four-pot gasoline motor that produces 105 PS of peak power and 138 Nm of twisting force. The engine will come paired with a 5-speed MT or a 4-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The same power plant does duties in the ongoing Maruti Ciaz, Ertiga, XL6 and upcoming S-Cross. The all-new India-spec Maruti Jimny is also expected to be offered with a standard 4X4 system.
