Here's an HM Contessa that has been neatly modified to look like a Ford Mustang of the yore and what's even better is that it's on sale

Hindustan Motors’ Contessa was an iconic car. It was sold between 1984 to 2002 before a full stop was marked to the production of this legendary car. Based on the 1978 Vauxhall Victor, the Contessa was a beautiful car. It had proper 3-box silhouette with straight yet appealing lines all around. The car is still loved for its design, and modifiers and enthusiasts are keen on restoring and modifying their examples to look even better. Today, we came across one such mod job, where the detailer has transformed a Contessa to look like a Mustang. Not just any Mustang, but the 1969 Mach-I series of legendary pony car.

This HM Contessa to Ford Mustang Modification Is Among The Neatest Yet

This Contessa is modified by AD Automotive Customs based out of Daulatabad, Gurgaon, Haryana.

The car in the picture and video on this page can be seen as being heavily inspired from the 1969 Mach 1 Mustang. It gets the same sharp-nose on the front end which mimics the nose of an Eagle. The 1969 model was updated with the air scoops on the sides of the rear wheel arches, which have been neatly copied down to this modified Contessa as well. The 1969 Mach 1 model was distinctive from the other series of Mustang because of its quad-headlamps assembly. The modifier has added them as well. The next big thing that made the Mach 1 Mustang stand out was its sports roof with a raked C-pillar. The modifier being a true-blue Mustang fan did not fail at doing so either.

The Contessa was a super-long and big car with its respectable dimensions, and the modifier seems to have made a good use of them. The Mustang replica gets a super-long hood with a massive air-intake on top of the hood. We think that it is primarily to cool down the engine. The boot lid is also done with an integrated duck-wing spoiler and triple-slat tail lamps, iconically Mustang affair it is. In order to style the car like a retro American muscle, it gets speed stripes on the body and sits on large deep-dish alloys wheels, which look like 18 inchers in the video.

The HM Contessa used to come with an Isuzu sourced 1.8L diesel engine, and we expect the engine to be still there under the hood as there is no information revealed about the power plant by the customizer. But, for what it is, this is one of the neatest mod jobs ever carved out on an HM Contessa to make it look like a 1969 Mach 1 Ford Mustang. However. the car is on sale and contact details are provided in the video itself.
