To help increase sales during the nation-wide lockdown, Honda Cars India has announced its online car-buying-and-home-delivery platform.

With the entire country in lockdown, the Indian auto industry is currently in quite a bad situation. Sales have plummeted to near-zero levels, and consumer interest has dwindled in vehicles. Even if people want to buy a new car, they can’t step out into the streets, and consequently, cannot reach their local dealerships. Thankfully, carmakers have been receptive to consumers’ concerns, and many companies have already established their online sales platform for cars. Honda Cars India Ltd (HCIL) is the latest automaker to join the bandwagon.

To offer a convenient purchase platform to its customers, Honda has introduced its new online booking platform, dubbed ‘Honda from Home’. The platform is accessible via HCIL’s corporate website from the safety of your home. It allows potential customers to browse through the company’s complete vehicle range, choose your car, select the trim and colour. After that, you can select your nearest Honda Cars dealership. After verifying all the submitted info, you will be redirected to the payment gateway, completing which you will have booked your car online.

After booking your vehicle online, you will be contacted by a Honda Cars sales executive, who will discuss the finance options, and also help with the documentation process. Once that is complete, your booking will be confirmed and your car will be delivered to your doorstep.

“At Honda, providing ‘Joy of Buying’ to our customers is at the core of our corporate philosophy. Our newly introduced ‘Honda from Home’ facility offers a simplified and secure booking experience for the ever-evolving digital consumer who makes his purchase decisions online. Customers can now conveniently book their Honda car from the comfort of their homes. This platform is part of Honda’s digitalization efforts in car retail experience that not only drives convenience but also efficiency.”

The online booking platform offers round-the-clock access via Honda cars India’s website. The company has stated that it will soon be integrating all of HCIL’s pan-India dealerships, which will make online car purchases a possibility even in smaller towns. Online car purchase and home delivery have become a recent trend in India, already offered by other major carmakers like Hyundai and Tata. Currently, only Amaze, Civic, and CR-V is available on sale, as these are the only BSVI models in the company’s line-up. The pre-bookings for the BS6-compliant WR-V have also begun, even though the car is yet to be launched. The new Jazz facelift and next-gen City are also slated for a launch soon.
