Honda City RS Hatchback Launched in Indonesia, Misses Out on Turbo-petrol Motor

Last year, the Japanese automaker Honda introduced the City RS hatchback in the Thai market. Now, the car has been finally launched in Indonesia, replacing the third-gen Jazz. For the Indonesian market, the new Honda City hatchback is only offered in the RS version. Potential buyers can choose between 6-speed MT or CVT gearbox. Mechanically, it derives power from a 1.5-litre DOHC i-VTEC NA gasoline mill, which is capable of shredding out 121 PS of power and 145 Nm of twisting force. Honda Prospect Motor (HPM), which is a local distributor in Indonesia says that it the most powerful motor in its class. In terms of looks, the Honda City RS hatchback looks quite similar to its regular avatar.

Outside, it gets a blacked-out grille up front, LED headlamps with DRLs and fog lamps, 16-inch blacked-out rims, which are shod with 185/55 profile rubber, multi-angle reverse parking camera, keyless entry and heat-rejecting tinted glass. Inside, the cabin of the Honda City hatchback features a combination of leather, suede and fabric upholstery, single-zone automatic climate control, manually adjustable front seats, keyless engine start/stop and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with the latest smartphone connectivity features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The CVT version of the car is offered with a remote engine start along with paddle shifters, which are not offered with the manual variant.

Moreover, the Honda City RS hatchback also comes with a dual-tone theme for the cabin with red and black colours, which enhances the sporty quotient of the car. Talking about its safety features, the Honda hatchback gets six airbags as standard, reverse parking sensors, vehicle stability assist, front seat belt reminders, and hill start assist. The buyers will get a choice of six colours to choose from namely - Phoenix Orange Pearl, Rallye Red, Crystal Black Pearl, Meteoroid Grey Metallic, Lunar Silver Metallic, and Platinum White Pearl. The India launch of the Honda City RS hatchback is not confirmed. Once launched in our market, it will rub shoulders with the likes of Maruti Baleno, Hyundai i20 and Tata Altroz.
