The new generation Honda Civic has been spied on test at the Mumbai airport. These spied images lend us a look at the new design of the Civic.

Honda Civic is going to be launched in early months of 2019, just about several months away. In 2012, Honda has taken back the eighth-gen Civic in India. It will be Civic’s first return in the India market after seven years. Ahead of its launch, Honda Civic has been caught being tested on Indian city road in Mumbai.

Even being carefully camouflaged, it is still easy to see that the Civic is veering from the common look of a sedan. Instead, it looks more like the fastback with sloping roof toward the end, making the Civic look posh. Some details that could be told from the spy images are the new huge 5-spoke 17-inch wheels, a large chrome grille on the front. It is noticeable that the new Civic will feature a front LED headlamps and LED DRLs. The use of LED also expands to the rear side with the LED tail lamps the strikes across the boot lid.

The interior of the Civic is still kept unknown but we can expect to see it to host a large 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple Carplay and Android connectivity. Built-in navigation is a must, too. The digital instrument cluster and automatic climate control would be also available as well.

On the mechanics front, the Civic might come with a 2-litre petrol engine that is paired with either or manual and an automatic gearbox. Another possibility for the petrol version is the old 1.8-litre unit that is able to make 141bhp and 174nm.

Moreover, this time around, it seems that the Civic will come with a diesel engine for the first time in India market. For the diesel version, it is likely that the 1.6-litre diesel engine will be brought from the Honda CR-V to the Civic. This unit could churn out the maximum power of 120bhp and 300Nm.
