Hyundai Alcazar (7-seater Creta) To Launch in H2, 2021

Hyundai Alcazar is expected to be launched in the second haft of 2021. It will be the extended version of the successful Hyundai Creta.

Earlier this year, Hyundai has launched the new Hyundai Creta. Shortly after the launch of the new Hyundai Creta, the automotive market hit a major slowdown due to COVID19 pandemic. However, as soon as the market recovers, the new Hyundai Creta has gained an impressive sales figure and returned to the top spot on the sales chart. The SUV is reported to clock over 12,000 units of sales each month. Following the success of the compact SUV Hyundai Creta 2020, Hyundai is planning on expanding its SUV line-up with a 7-seater Creta in 2021 H2.

According to the latest report, the new 7-seater Creta is likely to be called Alcazar. Reportedly, Hyundai has registered a trademark for the Alcazar nameplate in India. The extended Hyundai Creta has previously spotted during a road test in South Korea. As to accommodate more passengers, the sever-seater Creta will get a longer wheelbase. The overall length of the vehicle will also increase.

The spy shots also reveal some major styling updates of the upcoming seven-seater Creta. It was seen with a new chrome-garnished radiator grille, revised bumper and redesigned headlights. On the side profile, the SUV will adopt a set of 17-inch alloy wheels, extended rear overhang, side body silver sills, flatter roofline and practical roof rails.

It is likely that Hyundai will offer two seating configurations, 6-seater and 7-seater versions. On the six-seater Creta, the second row will consist of two captain seats. The seven-seater version, on the other hand, will feature bench-type second row. With the addition of the third row, the boot space of the Creta will be significantly reduced.

In terms of features, the Hyundai Alcazar is likely to receive a similar equipment list to the Hyundai Creta. The Alcazar will sport a good number of goodies including a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a head-up display, 360-degree view camera, wireless phone charging, power ventilated front seats, electric panoramic sunroof, multiple steering wheel, and cruise control.

About the powertrain, the new Alcazar might be offered with two engine options, 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol and a 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel. While the former is capable of making 138 Bhp while the latter is good for 113 Bhp. The seven-seater Creta will be available with both manual and automatic gearbox. Hyundai Alcazar is expected to be priced from Rs 11 lakh to Rs 18.5 lakh, which is around 1 lakh more expensive than the regular five-seater version.
