Hyundai Creta 7-Seater Spotted In India For the First Time Ever

Hyundai Motor India Ltd is currently working on a 7-seater version of their latest SUV, the new-generation Creta. While the upcoming three-row SUV was confirmed for the Chinese market and spied in China multiple times during road testing, we weren’t sure about it coming to the Indian market. There were a lot of speculations about it but nothing was confirmed. Now, we do have an unofficial yet concrete confirmation, as the test mule of 7-seater Creta has been spotted being in India as well.

In a recent video by DCV Bikes, a popular moto vlogger, we see the new SUV covered in full camouflage, driving around without a care in the world. At first, we see him riding his Kawasaki ZX6-R, and slowly approaching the test vehicle. Then, he looks for an opening and quickly overtakes the car, deciding not to linger around it. This is quite a smart decision, as driving parallel to a car means that there’s a high chance you’re in its blind spot. Even if you’re not, an absent-minded driver could swerve his car into you, causing a fatal accident.

While the test car is wearing a full-body camouflage, we can clearly see the alloy wheels on it. These are unmistakably the same ones that we find in the new Creta, thus giving us a clue to the identity of the vehicle. Although we would have loved to see the face as well, a glimpse of the rear three-quarter section isn’t too bad either.

There is no word about the mechanical aspects of the 7-seater Hyundai Creta, but we expect it to feature the same three engine options as the new generation Creta. The first one will be a 1.5-litre, naturally aspirated, inline-4 petrol motor, capable of producing 115 PS and 144 Nm. The second one is a 1.5-litre, turbocharged, inline-4 diesel mill, which can generate 115 PS and 250 Nm. The third one is a 1.4-litre turbocharged, inline-4 petrol powerplant, which belts out 140 PS and 242 Nm. Once launched in India, it will compete against the Tata Gravitas, MG Hector Plus, and even the XUV500.
