Amidst the tough situation that the country is currently gripped with, Hyundai Creta has managed to become the second best-selling car in the country.

Hyundai is the second-largest carmaker in the country. To help it hold the title firmly, Hyundai has a strong line-up of cars that are highly popular among local consumers. In line with this, the Hyundai Creta has been the staple of many compact SUV buyers. The manufacturer launched the 2020 Creta in the market recently, and it is already doing well on the sales chart. The new moel was the highest selling car in the country in May, this year. However, now, we have completed the first quarter of the current fiscal, and the second-gen Creta has come up as the second-highest selling car in the country with a sale of 7,207 units in June this year.

If the sales figures for June 2020 are compared with those of June 2019, the Creta has registered a YoY drop of only 14 per cent. The conditions that the world is currently dealing with can be best described as horrendous. With people dying, economy falling, and lockdowns imposed, Creta managed to help the brand with decent sales figure during these challenging times. In fact, it's only due to the high popularity of the new model that brand Creta has registered only a minor dip in YoY sales performance.

There are a hanful of reasons for the 2020 Hyundai Creta to do well in the Indian market First and foremost are its proportions and fresh design. The 2020 Creta measures 4,300 mm in length, 1,790 mm in width, and 1,635 mm in height. It has been designed as per the company's Sensuous Sportiness design theme and this way, it ends up enjoying a respectable road presence in spite of the compact dimensions. Another aspect that helps the 2020 Creta top the sales charts are the multiple engine-gearbox options. It gets a total of 3 engine options – 1.5L N/A petrol, 1.5L turbo-diesel, 1.4L turbo-petrol. The transmission options available on 2020 Creta comprise of 6-speed MT, 6-speed AT, CVT, and 7-speed DCT.

On the safety front, the new Hyundai Creta gets six airbags, reverse parking sensors & camera, vehicle stability management, electronic stability control, hill assist control, rear disc brakes, front seat belt alarm, emergency stop signal, seat belts with pre-tensioners and load limiters.
