With over 12,000 units of Hyundai Creta sold in February this year, the SUV registered a YoY growth of mind-boggling 1675 per cent. How? Read here to find the answer.

Hyundai Creta is one of the best-selling SUVs in the Indian market. The South-Korean carmaker launched the new-gen model last year, which received a strong response from the Indian audience. The new-gen model was launched on March 2. However, the deliveries began by May, since a nation-wide lockdown was imposed in April 2020. Thanks to the Creta’s appealing design, feature-loaded interior, and multiple powertrain options, it turned out to be a hot-selling product in the Hyundai’s Indian line-up. In fact, it was the best-selling car in India for May 2020. Now in 2021, things remain quite the same. Last month, Hyundai managed to sell 12,428 units of the 2020 Hyundai Creta.

In comparison to the same month last year wherein the carmaker could only sell 700 units of the Creta, it is a growth of 1675 per cent on a YoY basis. With such high growth in February, it won’t be wrong to assume that Hyundai Creta is ready to put big numbers on the sales tally in future.

Hyundai Creta is offered with three engine options – 1.5L petrol, 1.4L turbo-petrol, and 1.5L diesel. The naturally-aspirated 1.5L petrol is good at pushing out 115 PS of peak power and 144 Nm of max torque. It is available with two transmission choices – 6-speed MT and IVT. The oil burner with its 1500 cc displacement churns out 115 PS against 250 Nm, and it can be had mated to either a 6-speed MT or a 6-speed AT. The smallest and the most powerful motor on the list – 1.4L turbo-petrol unit, it generates 140 PS and 242 Nm. This motor comes coupled to a 7-speed DCT only.
