New-gen Hyundai Elite i20 is due to receive a cosmetic revision soon. The N variant is also expected to make its debut the India market as well.

For the last few months, the next-gen Hyundai Elite i20 has been regularly seen undergoing road tests across the globe. Spy shots gave away several details of the upcoming model. In the latest set of spy images, it is revealed that the new Elite i20 will come with cut alloy wheels.

Hyundai Elite i20 2020 will go on sale with a slew of cosmetic updates

The appearance of the cut alloy wheels will leverage the appeal of the new Hyundai Elite i20. However, this cosmetic update is expected to be featured on the top-spec variants only. Along with this notable cosmetic update, the Hyundai Elite i20 will be available with a great number of new equipment, hence reinforcing its quality in the competition against other rivals in the segment.

Hyundai Elite i20 features a more grown-up stance than that of the existing model. Also, on the front end, Hyundai will refresh the headlight cluster, front grille, and front bumper to create a more enticing look. Hyundai Elite i20 2020 is likely to make use of LED lights for its headlamps as well as DRLs. Expect LED lights to be available on the top-spec variants only. However, the side profile looks more or less the same. From the spy shots, no perceivable dimensional changes are spotted. It is likely that the Elite i20 will come with no changes in terms of size.

For the time being, details about the interior updates are scarce. Our best guess is that the new Elite i20 will feature a revised dashboard with a new steering wheel and centre console. On the top-spec variants, Hyundai, in all likelihood, will offer an advanced infotainment system comprising of the Blue Link connectivity system and a larger touchscreen. Hyundai’s connected Blue Link system is currently featured on the Hyundai Venue and has received positive feedback from the customers. If it is true, the new connectivity system would be a major highlight on the new Elite i20 model.

About the powertrain, Hyundai Elite i20 is confirmed to be available with the BSVI-compliant engine range. The current 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine remains but with necessary BSVI updates while the continuation of a 1.4-litre turbocharged diesel engine is not confirmed yet. Besides the regular version, Hyundai will also bring forth the N variant for our market. Hyundai Elite i20 will compete against the likes of Maruti Baleno and upcoming Tata Altroz.
