Hyundai i20 N Hot Hatch Spotted At Nurburgring

It was reported that Hyundai is developing the N Line variant of the Hyundai i20. The N Line version of the hatchback has been spotted in full camouflage for a couple of times. Recently, the Hyundai i20 N was seen on test at the Nurburgring facility, getting ready for its launch later this year.

Hyundai is expected to employ a 1.6-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine on the i10 N. This engine is likely to make a maximum power of 201 PS and a peak torque of 265 Nm against the power output of 118 Bhp on the regular i20 (new-gen) which uses the 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine. It will also be the most powerful i20 ever produced. The same engine was used on some Hyundai models, the Veloster, for example. We expect to see the Hyundai i20 N come with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. It is unlikely that Hyundai will include an all-wheel-drive system on the i20 N. To boost the performance, besides the adoption of a more powerful engine, the Hyundai i20 N also receives a tuned suspension, updated brakes, and tighter steering.

Hyundai i20 N will get a sportier styling package than its regular counterpart.

On the latest video, Hyundai i20 N appears with lesser camo sheets, giving us a clearer view of its enhanced styling. It is seen with large alloy wheels, wider tyres, a pronounced roof spoiler and beefier brakes, thus distinguishing itself from the standard i20. The front end of the i20 N variant was carefully enclosed under the heavy camouflage. Still, we can expect to see some changes introduced on the front end of this new variant like a revised grille and tweaked bumper. Some sporty design elements like side skirts and dual-barrel exhaust pipe are also expected to make their way to the new Hyundai i20 N.

Hyundai i20 N will be launched by the end of this year.

Hyundai i20 N will be launched later this year. After launch, it will come up against the likes of Volkswagen Polo GTI and Ford Focus ST on the global market. For the Indian market, there is no plan for the launch of this performance-oriented variant in the foreseeable future. On the other hand, the Indian market is about to welcome the regular version of the new-gen i20 in August.
