The Hyundai i30 has a mid-life upgrade with a new exterior design, new modern safety and comfort features along with new mild-hybrid powertrain options.

As regards the exterior, the new i30 comes with a larger grille with a new 3D pattern, standard thinner headlights with V-shaped LED components, newly-styled more aggressive bumpers for the five-door hatchback and Fastback models. The sportier N-Line trim is even more unique with a newly-styled grille and many other alterations. The new 18-inch alloy rims have also been included as part of the upgrades. In the rear, the taillights’ V-shaped insignia has been kept intact but the bumpers have been revamped to give the hatchback an aggressive appearance. The same design alterations are applied to all the three body styles of the i30 lineup.

Hyundai cars are well-known for being well-equipped; the Hyundai i30 is not an exception. In terms of the interior, the most outstanding features consist of a seven-inch all-digital instrument cluster with a wider 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen system, wireless phone charger along with a large number of Hyundai’s connected-car technologies. The safety front has also been improved with a wide range of new safety features including Leading Vehicle Departure Alert, Lane Following Assist, Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist and Rear Collision-Avoidance Assist.

The new hatchback has received a lot of new modern interior features.

The Hyundai i30 continues to keep under its hood the existing 1.0-litre petrol motor with an optional 48V mild-hybrid unit. The motor is mated to a six-speed MT or a seven-speed DCT. Besides, a new 155 BHP/250 Nm 1.5-litre turbo petrol with a standard mild-hybrid unit has been added to the powertrain options of the i30. The 1.6-litre oil burner continues to serve as the power source for the i30 with two states of tunes: 113 BHP/ 280 Nm paired with an MT unit and 113 BHP/300 Nm coupled with a DCT. This engine is also available in a more powerful version with a power output of 134 BHP/280 Nm.

Expected to make its official debut at the 2020 Gevena Motor Show, the upgraded i30 will start to go on sale internationally not long after that. The hot i30 trim is also anticipated to have similar upgrades by that time.
