Hyundai Kona EV Gets Discounts of Up To Rs 1.5 Lakh

Ahead of the launch of the new Kona facelift, Hyundai is offering huge benefits for buyers of this electric SUV. Accordingly, the customers can save up to Rs 1.5 lakh when buying this vehicle.

Hyundai announced earlier that from the beginning of this year, it would increase the prices of all its vehicles in India. The price hike has been applied from January 1st. Fortunately, along with new price increments, Hyundai has offered some attractive discounts across its vehicle line-up within the first month of 2021. Hyundai Kona EV is one of the models to be offered with attractive offers.

Hyundai Kona EV is about to receive a facelift this year. In order to clear the old stock, Hyundai might want to offer some benefits to attract the buyers. It is worth to note that the offer is only available for the 2020 Hyundai Kona made in 2020. The discounts for the Kona EV, including cash discount, corporate discount and exchange bonus, add up to Rs 50,000. Other than that, the customers can get additional benefits for an optional paint job, which can save up to Rs 1.5 lakh.

At its current form, the Hyundai Kona EV’s electric motor sources power from a 39.2 kWh battery. This electric motor is capable of putting out 134BHP of peak power and 395Nm of peak torque. This powertrain can pull the electric SUV forward from idle to 100 kmph in just 9.7 seconds. In addition, Hyundai provides four driving models for the Kona EV, namely, Eco, Eco Plus, Comfort and Sport. There are also paddle shifters for controlling the regenerative braking system. The claimed ARAI range of the Kona EV is rated at 4532 km per charge. This specification can be translated to 350-360 km in real life.

As far as the charging method is concerned, the Hyundai Kona EV is available with three charging options, including a 50 kW fast charger, a 7.2 kW AC charger and a 2.8 kW portable charger. The first option allows the EV to be charged up to 80 per cent in less than one hour. On the other hand, the AC charger which can be installed at home takes six hours to complete the charging. It takes even more time to charge using the portable charger.
