Hyundai will be the first one to launch an all-electric car in the Indian market. And it seems that the Koda will be the first full-electric cars in India.

Early this year, Hyundai has made it clear that hybrid cars are not on their plans, instead, they either make an all-electric or a fuel-run car. Unlike Hyundai, Maruti Suzuki and Toyota target on releasing a hybrid car before preceding toward producing all-electric cars.

Recently, Hyundai Kona has opened about their plan for producing the first electric car in India. It is scheduled to be launched by 2020. The all-electric car will be an SUV. And Hyundai includes the SUV’s production on their Made-In-India project, which means that the car will be completely manufactured and assembled in India.

They will be the first car maker in India to release an all-electric car, which once again verifies their status as the leading company in updating technology. In the past, Hyundai was also the first one to make a move in applying common rail technology and introducing the anti-blocking system in India. Not to mention that, with the launch of the i20, they were also the first one to venture the new segment of the premium-hatch segment in India which has later boomed as one of the fastest growing segments in the market.

At the Auto Expo 2018, Hyundai has revealed their intention of making a move toward introducing an electric car. It is suspected that the Koda will be the first electric car.

According to some sources, the new SUV will not be available at every Hyundai’s car dealer showroom but only in 15 cities. Mumbai and Delhi are two among those.

The motor which will power the e-SUVs will be an electric motor that delivers the peak power of 135 PS and the peak torque of 325 Nm.
