Hyundai Santro Outsells the Tiago And Kwid In December 2018

Hyundai Santro has nailed a very high sales mark in December 2018, thereby outselling both Tiago and Kwid from Tata and Renault, respective in the same time period

The new-gen of Hyundai, the Santro has been overwhelming with positive responses from the customers, thanks to a great number of car model rolling out in 2018. As a result, in this year of 2019, it is expected to even have a greater impact on sales.

Hyundai Santro sales units are expected to even be increased in next year

Back to October 2018, it is the mark of a new model launching of Hyundai and also the two year anniversary of a tall-boy hatchback introduced. Particularly, in the first month of debut, the new Santro has managed to register 8,535 unit sales in October and boosted up to 9,009 in November 2018. 

In a move to make the expectancy of 9,000-10,000 monthly for Santro, Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has come up with a load of services. It comes as no surprise that In December of 2018, the South Korean automotive manufacturer has registered 7,197 units in total. This achievement has contributed to the position in the chart of twelve best-selling cars in the country.

Regardless of the high sales, the Santro will continue the rival battle with other car models from established brand to prove it as a solid choice in the midst of hatchback segment, such as the third-gen Maruti Suzuki Wagon R, the Maruti Suzuki Celerio, Renault Kwid and Tata Tiago. These all are the big nemesis for the Santro. Remarkably, in the run of the year-end discounts, the Celerio did come out on top.

Hyundai Santro has registered over 7,000 sales unit in December 2018

As for the prices, the Hyundai Santro is positioned between Rs. 3.89 lakh and Rs. 5.64 lakh (ex-showroom). Being built on a new platform with 63 percent high strength steel construction, the Santro will be powered by a 1.1-litre and four-cylinder petrol engine. This engine can churn out 69 PS and 99 Nm torque. It comes mated with either a five-speed manual transmission or Hyundai’s first-ever five-speed AMT along with ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of 20.3 kmpl. As for the CNG version, it can generate 59 PS and 84 Nm and is reported to return 30.5 km/kg.

In a short-run, Hyundai has also planned to bring on one-fourth of the total production to the international markets from this year.
