Hyundai Styx Likely To Be Launched Next Year

Hyundai is likely to introduce the Hyundai Styx in 2020 to compete against the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, the Ford EcoSport and the Tata Nexon.

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) is gearing up for a series of new car launches in the country, the most remarkable of which is the Hyundai Styx compact SUV. Having spotted testing many times in India and also other countries, the launch of the new entrant into the Indian compact SUV segment from Hyundai is just a matter of time.

Expected to be internationally showcased at the New York International Motor Show on April 17th, 2019, the Hyundai Styx compact SUV is going to be launched in the Indian auto market at the end of the second quarter of next year. It will be the first vehicle to be manufactured by the South Korean automaker in India in 2019. The upcoming compact SUV will borrow the platform from the Hyundai Grand i10 and will be another sub-4-metre vehicle to be entitled to the tax benefits.

The Hyundai Styx has been spotted testing many times under heavy camouflage. The test mules did unveil some features of the forthcoming car.

Regarding the exterior, the Hyundai Styx will take a lot of design cues from the Hyundai Creta. Expected exterior features include projector headlamps with LED DRLs in the front, 16-inch machine cut alloy wheel, roof rail on the side profile, LED tail lamps and faux skid plate in the rear.

The forthcoming Hyundai Styx is expected to be available with multiple engine options: 1.0L petrol, 1.2L petrol and 1.5L diesel unit. The transmission duties will be undertaken by both a 6-speed MT and a 6-speed AMT gearbox.
