Hyundai Motors India has started accepting bookings for the Hyundai Venue BS6 model. The sub-4-metre SUV is one of the most popular cars in its segment and has left a dent in the popularity of the Maruti Vitara Brezza.

2020 Hyundai Venue BS6 bookings open

Hyundai Venue was first launched in the Indian market in May 2019. The sharp styling and smart pricing quickly saw the car climb the sales chart within a few days of its launch. It even held on to the crown of being the most popular vehicle in its segment for two months, before it lost out to the Maruti Vitara Brezza. The new BS6-compliant model will be launched in the market in the coming days and dealerships have already commenced booking for the car for a token amount of Rs. 10,000.

The BS6-compliant version of the Hyundai Venue comes with the same petrol engine options as the BS4-compliant version. You can choose between a 1.0-litre TGDI petrol and a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol. The first engine generates 120 PS of peak power and 172 Nm of maximum torque, while the second one is capable of producing 83 PS and 115 Nm. There are two transmission options available here, a 5-speed manual for the 1.2-litre petrol motor and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic for the 1.0-litre petrol.

The diesel engine option on the Venue has changed though, with the old BS4-compliant 1.4-litre unit being replaced by a new BS6-compliant 1.5-litre unit from the Kia Seltos. In the Seltos, this engine is capable of generating 115 PS and 250 Nm of peak power and torque, respectively. That said, Hyundai will probably detune the engine to lower power and torque figures in order to improve fuel economy.

There are absolutely no other changes in the Hyundai Venue, including interior and exterior design. The car is equipped with premium features like a touchscreen infotainment system with various connectivity options (Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and BLUE LINK), reverse parking camera, electronic sunroof, and steering-wheel-mounted controls. Prices of the car are expected to begin from Rs. 6.7 lakh onwards (ex-showroom, New Delhi). Other than the BS6 Hyundai Venue, Hyundai dealerships have also started accepting bookings for the BS6-compliant variants of Elite i20 and Grand i10 Nios.
