Leaked images of the upcoming 2019 BMW X1 have surfaced online ahead of its official debut. The car now gets some subtle visual tweaks on the outside and on the inside, too.

Pictures of uncamouflaged units of the all-new 2019 BMW X1 have leaked online. The refreshed model, which is scheduled to get launched later this year, sports several styling tweaks. Seen here is the facelifted model's long-wheelbase version, which is specially meant for the Chinese market. However, the exterior design will remain largely the same on the regular variant, which will go on sale in all other markets, including that of India.

The facelifted BMW X1 has acquired design cues from the bigger X models. The car now gets a new single-frame grille that is a single-piece unit and redesigned headlamps with a squatter and sharper graphics at the front. Unlike the old model, the new version doesn't seem to get front fog lamps. Moreover, the side air vents have also been revised. At the rear, the SUV now employs a new tail lamp cluster. On the outside, the car comes equipped with some subtle cosmetical upgrades while we expect the same for the interior. Moreover, the spy shots also reveal that the second-gen BMW X1 will get a 12.3-inch virtual instrument cluster, which is found in other latest BMWs. It will also feature a new iDrive system. We can also expect fresh trim and upholstery options for the interior. The SUV will continue to get 1.5-litre petrol, 2.0-litre petrol and 2.0-litre diesel engines. The engine may get some minor tweaks for improved performance and lower fuel consumption.

For now, the plug-in Hybrid system of the BMW X1 is only offered in the Chinese markets, but with the facelift, it could go global. The pure zero-emission range of this electrified variant was enhanced by 83% to 110 km by an upgrade introduced last month. This model will not be going on sale in India though. The all-new BMW X1 will launch in India either by the end of this year or early next year. A few days back BMW has also launched the fourth-generation of the X5 SUV in India at a starting price of Rs 72.90 lakh. The new BMW X5 is locally assembled at the company's plant in Chennai.
