India-bound Jeep Compass Trailhawk Displayed At 2019 Shanghai Motor Show

The India-bound 2019 Jeep Compass has made its debut at this year's Auto Shanghai. The new model is a more rugged version of its standard sibling and carries several updates that enhance its off-roading prowess. Like the regular variant, the Trailhawk measures 4,398 mm in its length, 2,033 mm in width and 1,529 mm in height. However, in an effort to further enhance its off-road compatibilities, the company has raised the ground clearance of the Compass Trailhawk to 216 mm. Its approach angle now sits at 30 degrees while the departure angle stands at 33.6 degrees.

The all-new Jeep Compass has finally unveiled at the ongoing 2019 Auto Shanghai held in China.

Visually, the exterior design of the car has witnessed some marginal tweaks like the redesigned front and rear bumpers which get black decals and red-coloured tow hooks. The bonnet has been accentuated in a shade of dark grey which perfectly matches the overall design theme of the model. The 2019 Compass Trailhawk gets a similar side profile as compared to the standard Compass SUV, apart from a set of new alloy wheels. On the inside, the Trailhawk’s cabin has been spiced up with a couple of new interior colour schemes and loads of extra features, including a larger touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, leather-wrapped seats, et al.

A bucketful of cosmetic changes and updated features have been brought in the Jeep Compass Trailhawk for better off-roading performance.

Powering the Jeep Compass Trailhawk is the same 2.0-litre diesel engine as the standard model. It is good for 173 PS of power and 350 Nm of torque. However, the motor comes mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission. The new SUV boasts Jeep Active Low 4x4 drivetrain option. The reworked off-road kit even enables the driver to selected between modes like Rock, Gravel and Sand. The 2019 Jeep Compass Trailhawk will make its Indian debut in July this year. Prices of the new model are expected to start almost a lakh rupees higher than that of the current top-spec version.
