Indian Government Awarded Maruti Suzuki India National Safety Award

The Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India has bestowed Maruti Suzuki India with the ‘National Safety Award’ for the excellent performance in terms of the automobile safety in 2016.

Maruti Suzuki India has adopted a method called Safety Circle Competitions to encourage the employees to participate in the “Zero Sai” campaign. In this campaign, employees are divided into teams to find out the work-related dangers together and then conduct a plan to reduce the danger. The activities are organized with a view to promoting safety culture in employees and the teamwork spirit among them. Moreover, the plants of Maruti Suzuki also comply with the evaluation standards of OHSAS 18001 (Occupational Health and Safety Management System), which have been internationally acknowledged.

A powerful triple-tier monitoring structure has been created by Maruti Suzuki. This is the “zero accident” viewpoint consisting of “zero fire” and “zero human injury”, which altogether makes sure that constructors and employees in the plants can enjoy a safe working environment.

The ‘National Safety Award’ is annually awarded to acknowledge excellent performance in safety of industrial institutions to preserve and promote the enthusiasm of both the employees and the management board in accident prevention activities.

Maruti Suzuki India is the biggest automaker in the country, has gained enormous prestige in Indian auto customers. Now, with this award, the influence of the car maker in the country can be considerably reinforced.
