Interior of Renault's Upcoming Hyundai Venue Rival Spied For First Time Ever

Renault India plans to launch an entry-level SUV offering in near future. Codenamed the HBC, the new model could go on sale as the Renault Kiger. It borrows the CMF-A + platform from the Triber. While the Kiger's exterior has been seen earlier in some spy images, its interior has been recently revealed through some new spy media that has surfaced internet.

While the Renault Kiger is expected to borrow the mechanicals from the Triber, the spy images depict that the upcoming model's interior will have quite a few improvements in the form of the premium features over . This will help the Kiger penetrate well into the highly competitive segment it will be sold in. The new Renault SUV will lock horns with well-established models like the Mahindra XUV300, Ford EcoSport, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon and Maruti Vitara Brezza. Thanks to the platform which has a high level of localization, the Kiger will be aggressively priced and well-equipped at the same time.

As regards the interior, the dark colour scheme gives the Kiger a somewhat sporty feel. Compared to the Triber, the SUV sibling will be equipped with a new dashboard that will have an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a new centre console. The infotainment system will come with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, etc. While the new air-conditioning vents and controlling knobs are elegantly integrated to the centre console; the engine start/stop button is separately positioned. Other outstanding interior features on the Renault Kiger include a multi-functional steering wheel with audio controls, automatic climate control, a digital instrument cluster and a dual glove box.

In terms of the powertrains, the Renault Triber is expected to receive its power from a BSVI-compliant 1.0-litre turbo 3-cyl gasoline burner which can deliver about 95 HP and is mated to a 5-speed MT/CVT. The naturally-aspirated version of the same motor will be paired with an AMT unit and will be priced competitively to attract more customers.
