The American car manufacturer will open the bookings for the Jeep Compass Trailhawk, the more hard-core off-road version of the Jeep Compass, in India in mid-June before its official launch in July.

The Jeep Compass Trailhawk will have a slightly different appearance against the normal version with a 20 mm-higher ground clearance than the standard one. The redesigned front and rear bumpers will also better the approach and departure angles of the vehicle. Other differences are expected to include a lifted air intake to enhance the water-wading capabilities, tyres which can endure all seasons and floor mats which can operate well in all seasons. Red tow hooks, a ‘Trail-Rated’ badge and a black anti-glare decal on the bonnet will also be added to the off-road vehicle. On the side profile, it will be equipped with a contrast roof, a panoramic sunroof and two-tone alloy wheels.

In terms of the interior, the vehicle is expected to feature some slight alterations with special Trailhawk branding around the cabin. The interior feature list of the Compass Trailhawk has yet to be disclosed; however, it is expected to be equipped with an 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment setup, like the top Limited + variant of the Jeep Compass.

The Jeep Compass Trailhawk will be powered by 2.0-litre diesel motor which is expected to conform to the BS-VI emission standards. This motor is good for a maximum power of 170 bhp against a peak torque of 350 Nm and is coupled with a 9-speed torque converter AT unit. Jeep is going to equip the Jeep Compass Trailhawk with the Active Drive Low 4x4 System, a hill-descent control, a rear-locking differential and added the Rock mode to the Selec-Terrain system. All of which will help the Compass have impressive off-road capabilities.
