Jeep Compass Trailhawk To Launch Soon With BSVI Engine

The upcoming Jeep Compass Trailhawk will get subtle cosmetical updates on the outside and some feature updates on the inside.

As the new rivals are entering the India auto space, it’s high time for Jeep India to respond in order to contain the fast-dropping sales of the Compass. The American carmaker has already confirmed that they are working on a seven-seater mid-size SUV along with a sub-four meter SUV. However, before the launch of the new models, the company will introduce the Jeep Compass Trailhawk.

The Jeep Compass is expected to receive a facelift next year while the upcoming top-of-the-line Trailhawk variant is expected to be offered with a BSVI compliant mill.

Other than the Trailhawk, the company is expected to expand the Compass range by launching new entry-level, top-end and special edition variants in order to offer extensive purchasing choice to the buyers. The Jeep Compass is expected to receive a facelift next year while the top of the line Trailhawk variant is expected to arrive with a BSVI compliant mill. The Compass is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine that also propels the Tata Harrier and the upcoming MG Hector. The engine will be upgraded to meet the BSVI emission standards ahead of the deadline early next year. The engine is expected to continue to produce maximum power and torque outputs of 170 PS and 350 Nm. But, for effective transmission of all the grunt to the wheels, the SUV will employ a ZF-sourced nine-speed automatic transmission.

The American carmaker has already confirmed that they are working on a seven-seater mid-size UV and also on a sub-four meter SUV. 

The 2019 Jeep Compass Trailhawk is expected to carry a price tag of Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom). The SUV will come equipped with an updated exterior comprising of silver ‘Trail Rated’ badge on the front fenders, aggressive skid plates, redesigned bumpers, Trailhawk badge on the boot lid, all-terrain 225/60 R17 tyres and much more. Dimensionally, the new Trailhawk is 4,398 mm long, 2,033 mm wide and 1,529 mm tall. Moreover, the SUV enjoys 20 mm of additional ground clearance and offers a maximum water wading capacity of 482.6 mm. On the inside, the updated SUV offers features like black leather upholstery with Trailhawk embossed on it, dual-zone climate control, seven-inch UConnect touchscreen infotainment system, sunroof and contrast accents.
