The all-new Jeep Renegade has been spotted again while getting tested in India. The new-gen Jeep SUV is expected to hit our market before 2023.

FCA has restarted the testing procedures of the upcoming Jeep Renegade in India. The carmaker has been testing the SUV on the Indian roads for more than four years now. Once launched, it’ll rub shoulders with the likes of Hyundai Creta, Nissan Kicks, and Kia Seltos in our market. The upcoming Jeep Renegade will measure more than 4,000 mm in length. The all-new SUV has been recently spotted near Upidi, Karnataka. The car wore heavy camouflage, but it can be identified as the Renegade because of its wide 7-slat grille along with round headlamps. The SUV was launched globally back in 2014 and now the car is halfway through its life. It was also scheduled to hit the Indian shores, but the automaker called off the plans.

But, we are pretty confident about Jeep launching the new-gen Renegade in our market. The test car features squared-off wheel arches with boxy body design. It employs sporty-looking multi-spoke alloy wheels, which seems quite identical to the ones offered in the international markets. The rear profile of the car employs squarish tail lamps along with a spoiler with integrated stop lamp. The India-spec Jeep Renegade will be powered by a 1.3-litre gasoline engine. The automaker no longer offers the 1.3-litre diesel motor. The smallest oil-burner offered with the SUV displaces 1.6-litre of volume. If the carmaker has plans to launch the Renegade with a diesel engine than Jeep will have to use a powertrain with less than 1,500cc of displacement.

The all-new B-SUV is expected to hit the Indian shores before 2023. Moreover, by early 2021, Jeep India will launch the Compass facelift. After the launch of the new Compass facelift, the automaker has plans to launch the 7-seater Compass in our market. In foreign markets, the SUV will be offered with two different powertrain options- a 1.3-litre FirFly turbocharged petrol engine and a 2.0-litre Multijet II turbocharged oil-burner. Transmission duties will be done by a 6-speed MT, 6-speed DCT or a 9-speed automatic gearbox.
