The newly launched Kia Carnival MPV is more premium than the Toyota Innova Crysta. In terms looks, the Kia Carnival looks quite big as compared to the Innova Crysta.

At the Auto Expo 2020, South Korean car manufacturer Kia Motors had launched its second offering into the Indian market, the Carnival MPV. The newly launched Kia sits a segment above the Toyota Innova Crysta. In terms looks, the Carnival looks bigger compared to the aforementioned Toyota. Kia offers the Carnival in 5 different trim levels with the price starting from Rs 24.95 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and going all the way up to Rs. 33.95 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Here, we'll explain the different variants and the pricing of said variants of the Carnival MPV. First, let’s talk about some standard specs of the MPV. The Kia Carnival derives power from a 2.2-litre, BS-VI Compliant diesel mill, which develops 200 PS of power and 440 Nm of peak torque. The engine comes coupled to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Moreover, the car is offered in three unique colour shades namely- Aurora Black Pearl, Steel Silver and Glacier Pearl White.

The first two trims, Premium and Premium 8 STR, are almost identical to each other in terms of looks and features, except the difference in no of seats. Both the cars come loaded with features like 18-inch sporty alloy wheels, rear camera, body-coloured side mirror with integrated side indicators along with rear spoiler lights, steering mounted voice and audio controls, automatic projector headlights, voice recognition system, Doorstep plate, Bluetooth connectivity options, follow me home headlight cluster, 4 speakers and 2 tweeters, rear defogger, an-8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, rear defogger, and conversation mirror. Moreover, you also get three-zone climate control, 60:40 split in the third row, one-touch power sliding doors, auto defogger, tilt and telescopic steering wheel adjustability option, push start/stop button, electronically adjustable wing mirrors, power windows with driver’s side one-touch up-down and much more. In terms of safety features, the MPV offers two airbags and ABS with EBD. The carmaker does not offer features like rear parking sensors, traction control and roll-over mitigation.

On the other hand, the Prestige variant offers some added safety features like ESC, roll-over mitigation, side and curtain airbags, brake assist, cornering brake control and front parking sensors. It also features upmarket fabric upholstery in 7-seater version and 9-seater offers leather upholstery.

There is also a limousine variant of the MPV on sale, which gets genuine leather upholstery along with a host of “show off” features. Among all the variants of Kia Carnival, we like the Prestige variant. The car features some decent amount of features, and the price of the car is in the middle of the range.
