Kia Seltos Anniversary Edition Launched, Seems Inspired from X-Line Concept

Kia Seltos was the first product of the South-Korean carmaker in India. It helped the carmaker in strengthening its hold in the Indian market. Launched on August 22 last year, the Seltos has successfully completed a year in the Indian market. Therefore, Kia has now launched a limited-production Anniversary Edition of the Seltos in the country at a starting price of Rs. 13.75 lakh. It will be available in four colour options, one monotone - Aurora Black Pearl colour, and three dual-tone colour options - Steel Silver with Aurora Black Pearl, Glacier White Pearl with Aurora Black Pearl, and Gravity Grey with Aurora Black Pearl. The Anniversary Edition borrows a lot of styling cues from the Seltos X-Line Concept, which Kia showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo as it gets a lot of Tangerine highlights for the fog lamps housings, wheel hub caps, scruff plates, and side skirts.

On the outside, the Seltos Anniversary Edition gets revised bumper on both the ends. The new bumpers help it with a 60 mm increment in the overall length, thanks to new scuff plates. According to Kia, the front scuff plates is inspired by an elephant's tusk and gets silver diffuser fins. Also, it is fitted with side skirts, while the 17-inch alloy wheels get a blacked-out treatment.

The Anniversary Edition is based on the HTX trim of the Seltos. Therefore it comes loaded with a slew of equipment. The list includes LED headlamps, Ice Cube LED fog lamps, keyless entry, electric sunroof, 10.25-inch touchscreen for infotainment unit, wireless phone charging, mood lighting and more. The interior of the Anniversary Edition dons an all-black theme with Raven-black leatherette seats with a honeycomb pattern.

The Anniversary Edition of the Seltos will be available with two engine options – 1.5L petrol and 1.5L diesel. Both of the engines can deliver a rated power output of 115 PS. The torque outputs are, however, different. The petrol motor pushes out 114 Nm of max torque, while the oil burner is rated to generate 250 Nm of peak torque. The transmission options for the petrol engine include a 6-speed MT and a CVT. The diesel engine, on the other hand, can be had mated to either a 6-speed MT or a 6-speed AT.
