The good news is, we won’t be waiting too long for the launch of the Seltos as Kia has confirmed that its new SUV will go on sale in India from August 2019.
The Kia Seltos had its world premiere and local debut yesterday, revealing in all its glory to the press and public.
Frankly, a handsome looking mid-size SUV is what we have to say about the new Kia Seltos. The SUV gets a sporty and sophisticated design that appeals to any show-goers head-on from the first glance. On the outside, the Seltos features intricate LED headlamps and tail lamps, LED daytime running lights, 3D multilayer turn indicators and LED fog lamps. The company's signature wide tiger-nose grille looks quite prominent on the front facade. The squared-off wheel arches, rising window lines and sharp shoulder lines are uber-cool that add more to the premium and sportiness quotient of the vehicle. And so do the lavish 18-inch crystal-cut alloy wheels, which reflect a powerful stance for the Seltos as well.
The Kia Seltos appears to be a very compelling package replete with a long list of premium features.
The interiors of the Seltos roll out a sense of richness. It has been designed to fulfil the needs of tech-savvy buyers, which is thanks to various high-end technical details and usage of high-quality materials. There’re a plethora of creature-comforts and connectivity features on the inside such as a large 10.25-inch touchscreen for infotainment system compatible with 37 connected functions, sound mood lighting, an 8.0-inch heads-up display, ventilated front seats, 8-speaker Bose system, 7.0-inch multi-information display, 360-degree camera and a lot more.
The new Seltos will go on sale in India in August and compete fiercely with the Hyundai Creta, Jeep Compass, Tata Harrier and MG Hector.
The all-new Kia Seltos offers three engine options under the hood- a 1.5-litre petrol engine connected to a 6-speed MT and auto CVT, a 1.5-litre oil burner mated to a 6-speed MT and a 6-speed auto CVT along with a 1.4-litre turbocharged direct-injection petrol engine featuring a 7-speed DCT- a very convincing package to undercut that of its current adversaries. Note that these mills will be all BSVI compliant and the latter one will be exclusive to the special Kia Seltos GT Line sporty variant. There’s no official statement about an AWD system for the India-spec Seltos as yet. Seltos's drivers can be able to choose from three drive modes including Normal, Sport and Eco and three terrain modes- Wet, Mud and Sand.
