A recent report suggests that from April 2020, Kia will offer the mid-spec HTK Plus variant with some added features like a USB port for rear passengers, Dual-tip exhaust and emergency brake signal.

Kia Motors launched the Seltos SUV in India in August last year. The mid-size SUV got quite popular among the buyers in no time. It competes with the likes of Nissan Kicks, 2020 Hyundai Creta and MG Hector. Kia Seltos surpassed the sales of Hyundai Creta in its first five months of launch. The mid-size SUV is priced between Rs 9.89 lakh to Rs 17.34 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The SUV is offered in two different trims namely- Tech Line and GT Line. The Tech Line has 5 different variants namely- HT E, HT k, HT K Plus,  HT X and HT X Plus, while the GT line has three trims- GT K, GT X and GT X Plus. A recent report suggests that from April 2020, Kia will offer the mid-spec HTK Plus variant with some added features like a USB port for rear passengers, Dual-tip exhaust and emergency brake signal. This will help the model come out as a stronger rival to the mid-spec S trim of the 2020 Hyundai Creta. It may be noted that currently, there are at least 10 features that the new Creta offers but the Seltos doesn't.

Kia Seltos derives power from three different powertrain options. The 1.5-litre, petrol engine puts out power and torque outputs of 115 PS and 144 Nm. The 1.5-litre, diesel engine offers 115 PS and 250 Nm of peak torque. The petrol mill comes coupled to a 6-speed MT and CVT, while the oil-burner features a 6-speed MT and 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. Moreover, a more potent 1.4-litre, turbocharged petrol engine is also on offer, which develops 140 PS and 242 Nm of twisting force. Transmission duties are done by a 6-speed MT and 7-speed DCT.

A marginal increase in price is expected after these additions. Moreover, the top-of-the-line variant of Seltos will also feature a dual-tip exhaust unit. The Kia Seltos comes loaded with features like 17-inch alloy wheels, LED headlight, LED DRL, LED fog lamps and LED taillights, 1.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, panoramic sunroof, Bose sound system, automatic A/C, smart air purifier, rear parking camera and much more.
