Kia Seltos Prices To Increase On January 1, 2020

Kia Motors India’s blockbuster SUV, the Kia Seltos, will see its prices hiked from the 1^st of January, 2020. Kia Seltos was launched in India on August 22^nd, 2019, at the price of around Rs. 9.69 Lakh - Rs. 16.99 Lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). Since its launch, the Seltos has been selling like hot cakes in the segment of sports utility vehicles. In fact, it even beats its popular cousin, Hyundai Creta, and previous SUV-sales leader, Maruti Brezza to become the hottest-selling SUV in India.

At the time of launch, Kia had already announced that prices of the Seltos are introductory and will be jacked up soon. That said, all Seltos units delivered post-January 1^st will entail this price increment. Customers who have reserved a delivery before December 31^st, 2019, would not have to pay the hiked price sticker.

The detailed difference in pricing of the Kia Seltos will be updated closer to January 1, 2020.

With a healthy sales volume each month, the Seltos commands a waiting period of more than two months for a few specific variants. In October 2019, the South Korean SUV witnessed a total of sale 12,786 units in India, three times higher than the MG Hector. Kia Motors new enjoys as many as 4.85 per cent of the total UV market share in the country. To keep up with the resounding demand, Kia has recently kicked off a second shift at its facility in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, to boost the production to over 15,000 units on a monthly basis. On the flip side, the company is now gearing up for the launch of Carnival MPV – Kia’s second product for India, sometime in January 2020.
