All-new Kia Sonet Gets the BEST-in-Class Ground Clearance

The dimensions of the upcoming Kia Sonet have been leaked through a brochure scan, revealing that the Sonet will have the highest ground clearance of the class.

The first public debut of Kia Sonet 2020 has been made by the South Korean company recently, revealing details of features, engine and transmission options of the much-awaited sub-four-metre SUV. Just a while ago, the leaked brochure of Kia Sonet has emerged on the Internet, thereby revealing the variants and dimension of the car.

Detailed in the brochure, the Kia Sonet dimension figures are at 3,995 mm in length, 1,790 m in width, 1,647 mm in height along with the wheelbase of 2,500 mm. While the Kia Sonet SUV may not be the biggest model of the lot, it surely knocks out its rivals with the highest ground clearance in the segment. The Kia Sonet ground clearance is rated at 211 mm. It also comes as the tallest SUV of the lot. The boot capacity is measured at 392 litres and here, the sub-four-metre SUV also features the biggest boot in its space.

Kia Sonet will be offered in both Tech Line and GT Line trims along with 3 engine options under the hood. The two petrol mills for the Sonet will be a 1.2-litre 4-cylinder engine delivering 83 PS/ 115 Nm and a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged unit delivering 120 PS/ 172 Nm of peak torque. The former can be had with a mere 5-speed MT while the latter will be available with either a 6-speed iMT or a 7-speed DCT unit.

The diesel engine of the Sonet is in the form of a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder engine that also powers the Seltos. This oil burner can develop two different states of tune, namely 100 PS/ 240 Nm and 115 PS/ 250 Nm of torque.  Transmission options for the Kia Sonet diesel will be a 6-speed MT (for the less powerful version) and a 6-speed AT for the more powerful models.

Like the bigger brother Kia Seltos, the upcoming Kia Sonet will be loaded to the gills with features like a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with UVO connect, power sunroof, automatic AC, digital instrument cluster, smart air purifier, cruise control, wireless charging, ambient lighting and many more.
