Kia Sonet Teased Again, Launch on August 7

The Kia Sonet has been teased again ahead of its world debut in India. Once launched on August 7, it will rival the Maruti Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon and Hyundai Venue, etc.

A new teaser of the Kia Sonet has been released again prior to its global debut. Endorsed as “Get ready for a new level of wild”, the Sonet is an important product of the South Korean automaker in both the domestic and the international auto market. It is expected to make its debut on August 7 and will have a profound effect on the sub-four-metre SUV segment.

The new teaser reveals the LED taillights positioned on the two sides of the Kia badge, a rear windscreen wiper, roof rails, antenna and sculpted tailgate. Advertised as “wild by design”, the entire body of the Sonet is in shadows at the end of the video while showing the integrated LED DRLs since the South Korean auto manufacturer has chosen to utilize the traditional design instead of a split headlight unit which can be seen in the Hyundai Venue.

 

Thanks to the recent spy images and teasers, some of the most outstanding features of the Kia Sonet exterior have been revealed. These include a Tiger Nose chrome grill with contrast red inserts, a sporty bumper with faux air scoops, a sporty bumper with faux air scoops in the front, 16-inch alloy wheels, silver wheel covers, black wheel arches on the side profile, and a rear bumper with horizontal reflectors in the rear, etc. As regards the interior, the Kia Sonet is anticipated to be equipped with a flat-bottomed multi-functional steering wheel, a 10.25 infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity,  ventilated seats, start/stop push button, wireless charger, keyless entry, etc.

The Kia Sonet will bear a strong resemblance to the Hyundai Venue as regards the mechanical specifications and features. The engine options of the compact SUV will include a 1.2-litre gasoline burner, a 1.0-litre 3-cyl turbo petrol motor and a 1.5-litre diesel unit. Once launched in India, the Kia Sonet will compete against the Maruti Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300, Hyundai Venue, Ford EcoSport and the upcoming Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger in the fiercely competitive compact SUV segment. The Sonet is expected to come with segment-leading features to distinguish itself from other compact SUVs in India.
