Kia Sonet Makes it to Company’s Website Ahead of World Premiere on August 7

The all-new Kia Sonet will make its public debut early next month. It’ll get propelled by the same engines that also power the Hyundai Venue. 

The all-new Kia Sonet is all-set to make its public debut on 7th August 2020. The SUV was first showcased in concept form at the 2020 Auto Expo. Once launched, it’ll compete with the likes of Hyundai Venue, Maruti Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport and Mahindra XUV300. The automaker has recently listed the SUV on its official website for India. Kia has also recently released a new teaser video of the car, which shows taillights of the upcoming Maruti Maruti Vitara Brezza rival. Kia Sonet will be the third vehicle to be offered by the Korean carmaker in the Indian market. The upcoming sub-4-meter SUV will sit below Seltos in the carmaker’s stable. The Sonet will make its global debut in India only.

Inside, the SUV will come loaded with features like a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto Compatibility, automatic climate control, premium Bose sound system, steering mounted controls, push-button start, electric sunroof, wireless charging pad and Kia’s UVO connected car tech. The carmaker has already said that the upcoming Sonet will come loaded with a lot of segment-first features. The production-spec Kia Sonet will employ ‘Tiger Nose’ grille upfront, silver-coloured faux skid plate and a sporty looking bumper. Illumination duties will be done by LED headlamps with integrated LED DRLs. The side profile of the SUV will employ blacked-out pillars, all black plastic cladding, sloping roofline and bold creases.

The rear profile of the SUV will employ wrap-around LED taillights, spoiler with integrated stop lamp and slightly raked windshield. Dimensionally, the upcoming Kia Sonet will be 3,995 mm long, 1,770 mm wide and 1,605 mm tall. The car will have a wheelbase of 2,500 mm. Mechanically, it’ll derive power from a 1.2-litre NA petrol and 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine. The former will produce 82bhp of power, while the latter will put out the power output of 118bhp. The SUV will also derive power from a 1.5-litre diesel unit, which develops 99bhp of power.
