Kia Sonet Top Variant Price Revealed By Dealership

Kia Sonet is expected to be launched during the festive season this year, and its prices are likely to go up to Rs 10 lakh mark.

The sub-4m compact-SUV segment has been among the most action-packed car segments of the Indian car market. Almost every brand has at least one offering in this segment. Those who are not producing one yet are on the verge of jumping on to the bandwagon. Kia, for instance, will try to have a share of the sales pie through the productin-spec Sonet.

It was first showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo in near-production form. The Sonet is most likely to be launched in the country around the festive season. In a recent report we revealed that the prices of the Sonet will start at a shade over Rs. 8 lakh and go up to Rs. 13 lakh. However, recently, a Kia dealer from Rajasthan has posted an advertorial on a social media platform claiming that the prices of the Sonet will go up to Rs. 10 lakh only.

The dealer’s advertorial also has a button that reads as ‘Get Quote’, which further hints that the unofficial bookings for the Sonet can open anytime now. With the Sonet, Kia is planning to target the higher-end of the sub-4m compact-SUV segment. Also, Kia will be loading the Sonet up to the gills in every respect. In terms of looks, the Sonet will boast a butch-looking front-end with distinctive design for the LED DRLs. On the sides, the car will get a reverse inclined c-pillar, while the rear-end will get a LED light bar that will run across the width of the car.

Talking of the features, the Sonet will come with the largest touchscreen infotainment in its segment. The 10.25-inch unit will be borrowed from the Seltos. It will offer UVO connected car technology, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility and more. Also, the Sonet will come with various features like 6 airbags, smart air purifier, part-digital instrument cluster, sunroof, keyless entry & go, and Bose sound system.

Kia Sonet will be underpinned by the same platform as the Venue, and will also borrow the powertrain from the Venue itself. It is likely to be offered with 2 engine options – 1.5L diesel and 1.0L petrol. The oil-burner will produce a rated power and torque output of 100 PS and 245 Nm, respectively. The smaller petrol motor, however, will put out a peak power output of 120 PS and a max torque of 172 Nm. The gearbox options that will be offered with the Sonet are – 6-speed iMT, 6-speed MT, and 7-speed DCT.
