The Kia Sonet was revealed earlier this month. It shares the platform and most of its engine options with the Hyundai Venue, but even gets the same diesel engine option as the Kia Seltos.

On August 7, Kia Motors India unveiled the production-spec Kia Sonet. The new compact SUV shares its platform and the motor options with the Hyundai Venue. Noteworthily, the upcoming sub-compact-SUV will come with all the motor and transmission options from the Venue while also getting an oil burner from the Kia Seltos. Refer to the table below for a detailed representation of the Kia Sonet specifications.

In the meantime, the Kia Sonet will also receive its power from a 1.5-litre oil unit but in both states of tunes. While the 100PS/240 Nm of this motor will come with a 6-speed manual transmission; the 115PS/250 Nm one will be offered with a 6-speed AT. The noteworthy fact is that unlike the Seltos, the Kia Sonet will not get the 115 PS/250 Nm 1.5-litre diesel motor for the manual version.

The more powerful one is a 1.0-litre turbo petrol motor which can produce 120 PS against 172 Nm and is mated to a 6-speed iMT or a 7-speed DCT. The Kia Sonet comes with an FWD system in all variants with the AWD system not being available even as an option.
