Have You Checked Out the TVC for Kia Sonet? [Video]

Kia Motors India has enjoyed brilliant success in India with its first offering, the Kia Seltos. With the ever-growing demand of compact and sub-compact SUVs, Kia is planning to introduce a sub-4-metre SUV in India, based on the concept vehicle displayed at the Auto Expo 2020, the Kia Sonet.

First-ever TVC for the Kia Sonet

The video is simply just an animated design highlight of the Sonet SUV. The video painstakingly goes through every little detail of the exterior of the car. From the signature tiger-nose grille to the joined taillamps, the car is surely a looker. Even the17-inch alloy wheel design is extremely eye-catchy. The TVC also uses various lighting effects to bring out the dynamic character of the vehicle.

The interior of the vehicle is still under wraps, but we expect it to borrow design elements and components from both the Kia Seltos and Hyundai Venue. The equipment list will be extremely impressive, with automatic climate control, wireless charging pad, and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

The near-production model of the Sonet was spied during road testing earlier this year. It is expected to be based on the same platform as the Hyundai Venue, and share the same engines as well. There are three engines on offer on the Hyundai Venue. The first is a 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol capable of producing 83 PS and 114 Nm of max power and peak torque respectively. The second option is a 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol motor offering 125 PS and 172 Nm. The third engine option is a 1.5-liter turbocharged diesel mill with 100 PS on tap.

The price list will only be revealed once the vehicle is launched in India. We expect is to range between Rs. 7 lakh and 11 lakh (both prices ex-showroom). It will rival the likes of Hyundai Venue, Maruti Brezza, Mahindra XUV300, Ford EcoSport, and Tata Nexon.
