The Kia Sonet will not only have the best-in-segment features but it will even share some equipment with the Kia Seltos. Here are all the details

The launch date of Kia Sonet is just around the corner. Booking for the new sub-four-meter SUV are already underway and the upcoming model is all set to become the third vehicle and the second SUV for our market from Kia. Prior to the Kia Sonet, the South Korean car brand has achieved an overwhelming commercial success with the Kia Seltos. It is likely that the new SUV has full chances of becoming equally or even more successful. To ensure this, Kia has kitted out the Sonet with several segment-best features. Not just this, the Kia Sonet even inherits as many as 9 great features from the Kia Seltos. Here are the details-

Kia Sonet Interior Review (Hindi) | Can you seat 3 people in the rear?

1. UVO Connect Internet Car Tech - 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system

Kia Sonet will share the same 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with its sibling. Also, the new SUV will feature the similar UVO Connectivity system which is also available on the Seltos. This system supports smart functions like Voice recognition, internet connectivity as well as Android Auto and Apple Carplay compatibility. This smart and advanced system is one of the major attractions of the Kia Seltos. It is expected to draw more customers into buying the new Sonet as well.

2. Six airbags

It is confirmed that the Kia Sonet will come with up to six airbags. The same offering is also available on the Kia Seltos. It’s worth noticing that not every car in the segment can offer up to 6 airbags, even on the top-spec model.

3. Remote engine start-stop system

This function allows the driver to start the engine using your phone, smartwatch via the UVO connectivity system. Even though this smart function does not significantly improve the overall performance of the vehicles, it comes across as a very handy feature that will subtly increase the convenience, hence enhance the driving experience.

4. Ventilated Seats

Ventilated seats are one of those extra and upmarket features that not every car model in the same price bracket can offer. In India where the weather is extremely hot and moist during the summertime, the driver will really appreciate this feature. Fortunately, Kia will include this feature on the upcoming Kia Sonet. The same feature is already available on the Kia Seltos.

5. 7-speaker Bose Sound system with Subwoofer

One of the interior highlights of the Kia Seltos is the impressive 7-speaker sound system sourced from Bose. This audio system will be carried forward to the Kia Sonet. This high-quality sound system will take the entertainment experience inside the cabin to a new level.

6. Air purifier

The upcoming Kia Sonet will be fitted with Kia Smart Pure Air Purifier virus protection system. The purification technology is able to remove the bacteria and pollutants, deodorizing the air within the cabin. With the increasing concern for the outgoing pandemic and other environmental issues, this function can be stress-relieving for many.

7. LED headlights

Both Kia Seltos and Kia Sonet’s designs are heavily influenced by Kia’s existing design philosophy. Even though the sizes of the two SUVs varies, it is not hard to point out that this duo comes from the same car brand from the first glance. One of the cosmetic highlights that are shared between the Seltos and Sonet is the LED headlights. LED headlights are available on the top-spec variants in both cars’ line-ups. On the lower variants, Kia only offers projector headlamps. However, LED application is not available for the fog light assembly in both Seltos and Sonet.

8. Diesel-automatic powertrain

Both the Kia Seltos and Kia Sonet offers the diesel-automatic combination. Moreover, both of them are powered by the same 1.5-litre diesel engine which generates a top power of 115 PS and 250 Nm. The automatic gearbox here is a torque converter unit.

9. Turbo-petrol DCT powertrain

Kia Sonet will come with a different set of petrol engines. While the Kia Seltos is offered with 1.5-litre petrol and a 1.4-litre T-GDI turbocharged petrol engine, the Kia Sonet is available with a 1.2-litre and a 1.0-litre T-GDI engine. The similarity here is that both of them will get the turbo-petrol dual-clutch transmission combination. However, the petrol-DCT option on the Kia Seltos is more powerful than that one of the upcoming Kia Sonet.
