Kia Sonet Waiting Period LEAKED - Over 2 Months Wait on Select Variants

Today, Kia will be launching the Sonet in the country. While the brand has already revealed a lot about the sub-4m compact-SUV, it will announce the prices today for the various trim levels. However, right before the launch, waiting period for the respective trim levels of the Kia Sonet has been revealed in a leaked document. In the table, it can be seen that it is base-spec HTE trim (petrol) that commands the longest waiting period of 8-9 weeks. With the diesel engine, HTE trim has a waiting period of 4-5 weeks only.

Kia Sonet Waiting Period Revealed Ahead of Launch

The HTK trim, on the other hand, will be delivered in 6-7 weeks after making a booking, irrespective of the engine you chose. The HTE and HTK trims can be had with either a 1.2L N/A petrol motor with 5-speed MT or a 1.5L oil burner with a 6-speed MT. Talking of the next variant in the hierarchy – HTK Plus, it commands a waiting period of 4-5 weeks with 1.2L N/A petrol with 5-speed MT and 1.5L diesel with 6-speed AT, whereas with the 1.0L turbo-petrol motor, it has an increased waiting period of 6-7 weeks. The HTK Plus variants offer the buyers with an option to choose between 2 gearbox options - 6-speed iMT and 7-speed DCT for the 1.0L turbocharged petrol motor.

The HTX trim can be had with either a 1.0L turbo-petrol motor with 6-speed iMT or the 1.5L diesel engine with 6-speed MT, and it has waiting time of 4-5 weeks only. However, the HTX Plus trim commands a waiting period of 4-5 weeks with the 1.0L turbo-petrol motor (6-speed iMT) and 6-7 weeks when bought with the 1.5L oil burner with 6-speed manual gearbox.

The next trim option that we have on the list is the range-topping GTX Plus variant. It has a waiting period of 4-5 weeks for all the engine-gearbox combinations it comes with. It can be had with either a 1.0L turbo-petrol unit or a 1.5L oil burner. The former is offered with 2 transmission options – 6-speed iMT and 7-speed DCT. Talking of the oil burner, it can be had mated to either a 6-speed MT or a 6-speed AT.
