Kia SP2i SUV Spotted Testing In Mumbai

Kia is all set to step into the Indian market by an all-new flagship SUV based on the Kia SP2i concept model. Some days ago, the near-production version of the Kia SP2i has been spotted with heavy concealments on the roads ahead of its showcase in June that gives us some hints at how the brand new model could look like.

The first Kia SUV for India, Kia SP2i has been spotted testing on the public roads ahead of its unveiling.

The spotted Kia SP2i SUV, albeit heavily camouflaged, will most likely to carry an aggressive sporty design language with the company’s iconic tiger-nose front grille up front. On the other hand, it is expected to undergo a dual-tone treatment on the exterior with silver-plated roof rails and a gleaming black roof. The rear end of the new Kia's offering might feature a set of sleek taillamps with a signature Kia badge sitting in the centre as well.

Despite having no pictures related to the interiors of the Kia SP2i, we expect the SUV to adopt multiple creature-comforts on the inside including a touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlaty support, automatic temperature control, 360-degree camera view, mood lighting, wireless phone charging, heads-up display and many more.

Reportedly, the Kia SP2i SUV will get a "Seltos" moniker in India but the information is still scarce at this point.

In terms of engines, the all-new Kia SP2i is in all likelihood to get the power from a 1.5-litre gasoline and oil burners which are all expected to conform to the BSVI emission standards. Transmission duties might be done by a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard and another optional dual-clutch automatic transmission.

While the upcoming Kia SP2i has been caught in the production guise under the Seltos nameplate recently, it comes as a high expectation that the SUV should go on sale in India with the same name. However, it remains to confirm the case until the car makes its official debut in the coming weeks.
