After tasting success from Seltos, Kia is now eyeing other the 40lac Rupee SUV market with the Telluride.

Kia Motors has started with operations in India very recently. As of now, they are doing pretty well with just one car which is Kia Seltos. Nonetheless, Kia is planning to extend its lineup to take-up a bigger bite in the Indian auto market. The Carnival MPV was spied testing a few weeks ago and it will be the next launch from the Korean manufacturer. But, plans after Carnival are rather appealing. With Kia considering Carnival as its next big thing on the Indian road, it is pretty evident, that Kia will focus on bringing some interesting cars to extend its product portfolio. To fill the lineup with a car even more daunting than Seltos and Carnival, Kia is studying the Telluride to place it against the likes of the Toyota Fortuner.

Kia is studying Telluride for the 40 Lac Rupees Indian SUV space, which is currently dominated by Toyota Fortuner.

The Telluride is a 7 seat full-size SUV from Kia, which the manufacturer has recently launched in North America. The Telluride for the world is a fresh new SUV from Kia and it for sure comes loaded with all the bells and whistles, an SUV would ever need. The SUV comes loaded to the gills in the North American market with features like, offroad modes with a center-locking differential, 20inch alloy wheels, powered tailgate, self-leveling suspension, automatic LED headlamps with auto-dimming technology, 10-speaker Harmon-Kardon system, 3-zone climate controls, auto brake and park assist, Heads-Up display and a total of 11 airbags.

Kia Telluride is biggest and poshest SUV of the manufacturer is gigantic by all margins.

Kia has designed the Telluride for the American markets and has infused it with proportions, which are massive by all means. The SUV measures at an enormous 5 meters in length, 1990mm in width and 1750mm in height. With a wheelbase of 2900mm, Telluride has a lot more room on the inside than the Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavor, as they do with 245mm and 2850mm of wheelbase respectively.

As we all know Americans love their cars and engines bigger, so Kia has plonked it with a 3.8L direct-injection V6 petrol motor, which produces 290hp and 350Nm of peak output. The power transmission to all the 4 wheels is taken care of by an 8-speed torque converter gearbox. Although, we do not expect this powertrain to make its way on the Indian version of the car, as we love to fill diesel in our big SUVs.
