Land Rover Discovery 2.0-litre diesel launched in India

Land Rover has launched the Discover with a new 2.0-litre diesel motor which features series sequential turbo technology.

The luxury car manufacturer Land Rover has finally launched the Discovery 2.0-litre diesel, priced at Rs 75.18 lakh. The 2.0-litre engine is the company's new entry-level engine model which is offered in total four trims namely S, SE, HSE & HSE Luxury. The newly launched 2.0-litre Ingenium oil burner powering the Discovery is Jaguar Land Rover's first engine to feature series sequential turbo technology, which helps out delivering more performance out of the regular unit. The new motor develops 177 kW (240 PS) of power and 500 Nm of twisting force. Transmission is done by an 8-speed automatic gearbox.

Moreover, the other engine option which powers the SUV is a 3.0-litre TD6 diesel that generates 190PS of power 600 Nm of torque. The engine comes paired with an 8-automatic transmission. A 2.0-litre Si4 Ingenium petrol mill which churns out respective power and torque outputs of 221PS and 400Nm, it comes mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The last one is a 3.0-litre Si6 petrol unit which produces 250PS and 450Nm and comes adjoined to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Commenting on the new launch, Rohit Suri, President & Managing Director, Jaguar Land Rover India Ltd. (JLRIL), said: “The Discovery’s unmatched capability and versatility has now been enhanced with the introduction of the high powered Ingenium diesel variant at an attractive price that we believe will enable the Discovery to appeal to a wider customer base.”

The 2019 Land Rover 2.0 diesel is Rs 1.76 lakh cheaper than the Discovery 3.0L petrol.

The all-new 2019 Land Rover  2.0-litre diesel features a lot of luxury-benchmark features like electrically reclining seats, Intelligent Seat Fold, Four-zone Climate Control, Powered third-row seats, a panoramic sunroof, Cabin Air Ionisation, 360° Surround Camera, Adaptive Cruise Control, Protect and Remote. Moreover, the SUV acquires an approach angle of 34°, a ramp angle of 27.5° and a departure angle of 30°, which makes Discovery a better off-roader as compared to its competitors. The SUV is offered in 5 and 7-seater configuration. The 2019 Land Rover 2.0-litre diesel is Rs 1.76 lakh cheaper than the Discovery 3.0-litre petrol.
