Mahindra Alturas G4 Bookings Hit 1,000 Mark

Mahindra & Mahindra is “happy” with the 1,000 bookings units for the Alturas G4 so far.

As Dr Pawan Goenka, Managing Director of M&M revealed to us that up to now, the automotive company has received 1,000 bookings for the Mahindra Alturas G4. On November 24, 2018, the brand new flagship SUV Alturas G4 was introduced in India, at the price ranging from Rs 26.95 Lakh to Rs 29.95 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). It is an alternative to the slow-selling Ssangyong Rexton and the costliest Mahindra offering in the market.

Being a mid-size frame-based model in the segment of SUV, the Mahindra Alturas G4 measures the overall length, width and height of 4,850 mm, 1,960 mm and 1,845 mm, respectively. It attains 2,865 mm in the wheelbase with seven-seating configuration. While coming as a rebadged Ssangyong Rexton G4, the Alturas G4 received some subtle tweaks in its styling design with a new grille and revised interior.

Exterior-wise, the SUV features high-intensity discharge (HID) headlights with LED DRLs, LED front fog lights and taillights, a new set of 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and many more. On the inside, the Mahindra Alturas G4 is equipped with well-loaded features and equipment with premium material usage. Its interior highlights should be noted with 7-inch colour information display, 8-inch infotainment touchscreen supported by Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, black-quilted Nappa leather seats, 8-way power-adjustable driver seat and dual-zone automatic temperature control.

On the performance front, the Alturas G4 derives the power from a 2.2-litre e-XDi220 4-cylinder turbo diesel engine generating the max power of 181 PS at 4,000 rpm and the peak torque figure of 420 Nm at 1,600- 2,600 rpm. It is mated to a Mercedes-Benz-based 7-speed automatic gearbox with both 2WD and AWD system. Also, the Mahindra Alturas G4 can handle superb off-road driving thanks to its four-wheel-drive system, assisting packages and driving modes.

The Mahindra Alturas G4 is at present competing with the likes of Ford Endeavour and Toyota Fortuner in the Indian auto space. At 1,000 booking units, the Mahindra SUV is doing a pretty good job when compared to its competitors. The Ford Endeavour is dealing in around 5000 units sold a month while the Toyota counterpart gets a monthly sale figure of about 1,500 units.

Speaking about the Alturas G4’s positive momentum, Pawan Goenka said that he was so happy with the bookings number of the car so far and also confident with the sales of its new launches in the coming weeks. He believed in the combined sales of around 9,000 units per month for these vehicles in early 2019.
