Mahindra showcases e-XUV300 concept, which will compete against the likes of Tata Nexon EV and MG eZS once launched.

Mahindra has been focusing on the EVs now, and the keen-ness on that can be supported with the fact that the manufacturer launched an EV and showcased an EV. The one showcased is the electrified version of the XUV300. However, there’s a lot more than to it than just being the electric version of the XUV300. The XUV300 was based on the Ssangyong Tivoli, but the car’s length was trimmed down a little to bring it under the 4-meter mark, while the e-XUV300 is based on the full-size Tivoli to give it a proportionate rear-end.

In terms of looks, the e-XUV300 has a similar silhouette and lines as its petrol sibling. However, the absence of any functional grille or air-dam, the e-XUV300 looks like it is a car straight from the future. Since EVs do not need under-hood ventilation, the vents are closed to improve the overall aerodynamic coefficient of the car. The same has been done with the wheel caps as well. It gets steel wheels with magnetized wheel caps, which also happen to be designed in a way to resist air drag.

The e-XUV300 is longer than the XUV300 and gives the car a much-more proportionate appearance.

With a proportionate silhouette, as it is a little longer than 4 meter, we expect the car to offer higher boot volume in comparison to the regular XUV300. Talking of its price, it isn’t revealed as of now, but we expect it to take on a direct rival against the likes of Tata Nexon EV and MG eZS with an expected starting price of around 15 Lakh Rupees. Rivalling against the competition, the e-XUV300 is expected to have a range of more than 300km in one full charge. However, no technical specification is revealed about the car from Mahindra and thus we need to wait and watch how Mahindra will place this good-looking electric SUV.
